Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I use a CPA?
CPAs must pass a comprehensive four part examination on all aspects of
accounting, as well as a thorough background check. In New Jersey, CPAs
must also show evidence of experience in varied aspects of accounting
before they are licensed. Unlike unlicensed preparers, in New Jersey, CPAs
must take 120 hours of continuing education every three years to stay
current on relevant issues.
What is Jeff's background?
Jeff earned his B.A. from Rutgers University-Rutgers College and his Juris
Doctor from Rutgers Law School. He is licensed as a Certified Public
Accountant in the State of New Jersey and is admitted to the New Jersey
Bar. He has lived at the Southern Jersey Shore for his entire life. His family
ties extend to Atlantic, Cape May, and Ocean Counties.
What type of clients do you handle?
We specialize in representing small businesses and individuals.
Why should I let you represent my small business?
We pride ourselves on personalized representation of small businesses. We
understand that small businesses need more than a tax return and financial
statements prepared. They need an advisor and someone they can help
with tax and financial planning. Because of this, we represent most
business clients on a flat-fee basis, meaning you are not charged whenever
you need to call us for questions or advice.
I don't own a small business. Why should I let you prepare my individual
return?
We understand that individuals that aren't self-employed need attention
too. We can prepare your tax return for you thoroughly, efficiently, and at
a fair price. Our fee includes answering any quick questions you may have
throughout the year. A quick call during the year can often save a great
deal in taxes at the next year-end.
What about the IRS and other government agencies?
If your return is selected for examination by the IRS or state taxing
authority, we can represent you. As a CPA firm we are permitted by the
IRS to represent any client during a tax audit, unlike unenrolled preparers.
Additional fees will apply to any tax audits.
